DAVE’S RADIO VOICE HEARD BY MILLIONS
Dave Zorn (1944-2018) was an award winning broadcast journalist and Vietnam War veteran. He was born in Lebanon, Missouri but spent his early childhood in Milford, Connecticut. The family spent several years in rural Somerset, Pennsylvania and Brea, Ohio before settling in Phoenix, Arizona. After graduation from West High School, Dave majored in broadcasting at Phoenix College. He joined the Marine Corps in 1964 and served in Vietnam during 1965 and 1966.
His radio news career spanned nearly forty years: KOY-AM, KPHO-AM, KPHX-AM and KTAR-AM in Phoenix and WWJ-AM in Detroit. Dave anchored the news at CBS-owned KNX 10.70 Newsradio in Los Angeles from 1981-2006 where he earned numerous broadcasting Golden Mike awards. Dave married his college sweetheart, Carolynn Bauer, in 1995.
